Terms and Conditions

Please read the following carefully:

Welcome to my practice, and congratulations on taking this important step toward your well-being! I’m glad you’re here. This document covers some essential information about how we’ll work together and what you can expect from our sessions. By attending a Therapy session with me (Joshua Erlick) you agree to these terms.

  • Psychotherapy Services: Dramatherapy (Creative Arts Therapy) isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. It’s unique to each therapist-client relationship and depends on the specific challenges you’re bringing to the table. I use a variety of methods tailored to help address the issues you want to work on. Unlike a quick doctor’s visit, therapy requires active participation from you. For our sessions to be most effective, it’s important that you engage with the work we do together, both during our meetings and in your daily life.

Therapy can bring about significant benefits, such as improved relationships, problem-solving skills, and reduced distress. However, it’s also natural to experience some uncomfortable emotions, like sadness, guilt, or frustration, as we explore difficult topics. While I can’t guarantee specific outcomes, I’m here to support you through every step of the journey.

  • Confidentiality and Record Keeping: Our conversations are private, and I take your confidentiality seriously. I will only share information about our work together if you give me explicit written permission. As suggested by my registered body:- HCPC, I’m under the supervision of a registered, experienced psychotherapist. This means I will discuss our work with my supervisor to ensure I’m providing you with the best care. Rest assured, I’ll do everything possible to keep your identity confidential, and my supervisor is also bound by confidentiality.

That said, there are a few situations where I’m legally obligated to share information, even without your consent. These include if there’s a serious threat of harm to you or someone else, if there’s knowledge of abuse involving a minor, elderly, or disabled person, or if there’s misconduct by a mental health professional. Additionally, if you become involved in a legal case, I might be required to share records or testify, although I’ll do my best to maintain your privacy.

As part of our work, I’m required by law to keep treatment records. These notes are straightforward: they simply document the date of our sessions and what we discussed. As your Dramatherapist, I won’t diagnose or interpret your actions in these notes; I’m here to observe and record our sessions accurately.

  • Liability: I’m here to guide and support you on your journey, but it’s important to understand that the decisions you make, both during and after our sessions, are ultimately your own. While I strive to provide a safe and supportive environment, I cannot be held liable for your life actions. This is not to be used in place of professional advice whether legal, medical, business or financial but a space to explore your self, emotions and self development. Please seek a legal professional for these areas. My role is to assist and empower you, but the choices you make in your life are your responsibility.

  • Payment and Cancellation Policy: I try my best to ensure a payment plan suits you. Some clients choose to pay per session, others invest in bulk amounts paying for a number of sessions in advance. This is something we can discuss in our first consultation meeting. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. If not, you’ll be charged the full rate for the missed session. Please note that I don’t offer refunds.

  • Session Length: Each session generally lasts for 1 Hour. However, this can be adjusted based on your specific needs and my availability.

  • Termination: I reserve the right to terminate therapy if you pose a threat to my safety or fail to meet payment obligations.

  • Other Therapies: As your therapist I focus on your care during our sessions, but I cannot be responsible for the outcomes of any other therapies or remedies you may be pursuing at the same time.

By purchasing a session with me (Joshua Erlick), you agree to comply with these terms and conditions and acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the policies set forth.
